Welcome

CUPP

CUPP

CUPP resides in a repurposed shipping container in the middle of Cabot Circus, a major shopping centre in Bristol. The big turquoise box sitting outside of Quakers Friars, a historic stone built friary, is hard to ignore, I had to check it out.

The fact that a coffee shop, bubble tea and noodle bar are all successfully created within this small space is quite the accomplishment and the interior finishes add another layer of fun. The playful colours of tile that cover the bar contrast nicely with the weathered steel tread plate patterned flooring. The Plumen light bulbs that hang from the ceiling are sophisticated and whimsical and look great whether illuminated or not. The typeface selected for the menu is really nice and simple (I'll have to see if I can figure out which one it is) and using the wood for it adds a warm material to the inside of this metal box.

The way the seating spills out in the the public space adds life to the area and I've yet to see it empty on a nice day. The perfect stop for a day of shopping in Bristol.

All photos are my own.
