K Ceramics

The ceramic work from Kate of K Ceramics is so beautiful. The wash of colour on her pieces highlighted her carving technique that she so expertly executes on her work. The markings she creates with the addition of the wash of colour results in pieces that are both functional and sculptural. The marks on each piece help create a form that is very tactile and unique.

I love watching the videos Kate posts that show her process at work. There’s something so mesmerising about the repetition of the markings and that satisfying way the clay curves as lifts away from the form.

K Ceramics are wonderful exploration of the way that ceramics can be treated and finished as well as formed. I can’t wait to see more of her work and videos in the future.
