At the heart of Abii-Smith’s work is their connection to the Black and LGBTQ+ communities. They began illustrating during lockdown and what has resulted is a collection of work that is both imaginative and very real at the same time. These works are such a wonderful exploration of colour, shape and form but above all such great example of diversity and inclusion. If only more work encompassed and celebrated a wider variety of people. I’m so pleased Abii-Smith-Smith is sharing their talent with the world.
