Denmark's Mette Duedahl has such an interesting story behind her journey into ceramics. She began as a photographer, this explains her stunning Instagram feed, and gradually determined she needed to work with three dimensional forms. It is through ceramics she found a means to express and explore this interest.
She is clearly a talented artist and designer. Her final project, a coffee press, was adopted by Muuto and is now in mass production! What amazing talent to have such a great experience so soon after school.
What catches my eye most about Duedahl's work is her incredible colours. She achieves such rich, saturated colours I had no idea such hues were achievable with ceramics. The chestnut colour that is featured in her most recent work is so incredible, it almost looks like leather. I just love it it all. Beautiful, practical and unique, Mette Duedahl's work is fantastic.
