Hand+Fire

Hand + Fire designs are some of the most intriguing ceramics work I’ve ever encountered. The colours and textures H+F pieces have are so tactile, elegant and organic. I love the paintbrush-like technique applied to some pieces that give it a whitewashed, aged look.

Some pieces by Hand + Fire remind me of corten steel at times with their deep copper and bronze hues and the sandy looking texture. It’s such an interesting method of creating ceramic work!

The brilliant, lady boss behind Hand + Fire, Sage Cortez, is truly talented and passionate about what she is creating with her work and I’m so glad she’s sharing it with the world.
