Ara the altar
The designs of Ara the altar are so chic, elegant and just simply perfect. Based in Northwest England, Ara the altar, named after a constellation, designs her pieces based on inspiration from the earth and from astronomy. The result is a collection of designs that are delicate and some how vivid as well.
What I also love about Ara the altar is her commitment to slow fashion and to the environment. All of her pieces are made from recycled metals, she uses vegan materials and solutions and her packing consists of organic cotton and recycled or biodegradable materials. Her commitment to responsible design is so inspiring and just so important during today’s fashion industry that is plagued by detrimental processes.
Another aspect that I also truly love and admire about Ara the altar is the amazing photography of all the designs. The images are so soft and serene. I love the texture of the linen and the sand against the bright silver lines of her work. The images with her work submerged in crystal clear water are captivating. This view of nature through these photos is just another reason why we need to protect the earth and make sure that the purchases we make also work towards protecting it as well.
