Contra

My independent magazine read this month came for Contra. Contra studies conflict and its relationship with visual culture. The theme for this issue was ‘ruin’. The pages of Contra were filled with such incredible visuals such as photographs of abandoned Russian war structures to the derelict streets and spaces of the Gaza Strip.

Not only were the images stunning and haunting and beautiful all at the same time I also just learned so much about current events and happenings in the world. It has been one of the most interesting reads I have had this year. I’m sad it’s only published annually. But very excited for the next issue of Contra and where that one takes me.
